Moses
born 1768 in
Dorchester County, MD to Levin and Aney Cator. Moses married Lydia Howett
on 17 July 1808 in Tyrell, NC. He would have been 40 years old.
By 1850 Moses and his family had moved to Williamson, TN and was now 81 years
old and likely a widow as the next person listed is 40 years younger. He is
listed as a farmer still and having been born in Maryland. The rest of the
family was born in Tennessee. On the slave schedule for this year, he owns 12
slaves.

Cator, born
18 Oct 1770 in Dorchester County, MD. He was living
in NY at the time of his father's Abel's death 1850. He died in
Williamson County, TN.
He married Ann Harvey (Harvy) in Tyrell County, NC on August 3, 1803. He
would have been 33 years old.

in Baltimore MD, which is where he also died. He married
Elizabeth Carpenter on 31 Dec 1803 according to the St. Mary's County records.

owns an $8,000 home/personal property of $33,000. Wife, Sallie
is 26. Children in home are George(4), Josephine (7), and Benjamin
(2). Also living there are William Watters 25 (clerk) and
Solomon Brown 21 (waiter).

Carrie Louisa Cator born. She married Dr. Herbert Harlan,
a physician born in Harford County, MD May 7th, 1856.
Their wedding was held at Christ Church in Baltimore, where they
both resided, on April 23, 1890. Carrie
was an Episcopalian. Dr.
Harlan’s education included: A.B.
from St. John’s College, Annapolis, MD in 1877, followed by his A.M.
degree in 1878. He graduated in medicine from the University of Maryland in
1879. Then for two years
(1879 and 1880) he practiced at hospitals in Paris and Vienna.
Beginning in 1881 he was a surgeon to the Presbyterian Eye and
Ear Charity Hospital at Baltimore.
Dr. Harlan was also a demonstrator of human anatomy for the
University of Maryland. It is known that he resided in Baltimore in 1912, with the
assumption that they had been living there for quite some time as a
couple.

He was interested in history and the 19th century.
He gave to the Enoch Pratt Library his collection of 200 prints and
watercolors depicting Baltimore between 1752 and 1932.

Charlotte Harrison.

1850. He married Mary Travers
who was born about 1794 and died in Baltimore MD. She (assumed with
husband) was living in Baltimore at time of Abel's death in 1850.
In the September 9th 1850 Census for Dorchester County MD, Abel is listed as a
70 year old sailor; Mary as 56 years old (not employed).

of Louisa Cator and Aaron Wallace:

Anna Victoria Wallace, born October 16, 1847 and died Oct
26, 1928 in Dorchester Co. She married Henry
Mark Shenton. Henry was born March 13, 1839 and died Feb
14, 1905 in Dorchester Co. Both are buried in the Grace P.E. Church
Cemetery on Taylor's Island.
