d February 10, 1814 at Hiwassee Army Garrison, TN.
 

Jesse Brimer (1759-about Feb. 10, 1814).  He married Eleanor Reneau (her surname not proven)  about 1789 in NC.  Jesse is listed in the 1790 census for Rutherford, NC as having a household of 1 male and 2 females. Jesse Brimer served in the War of 1812 for the Tennessee Regulars.  Jesse volunteered for this service during the war of 1812 in June 1813 at age 54 as a private in Doherty's Company the 7th Infantry.  He died a year later on Feb 10 1814 at the Hiwassee Army Garrison. His widow was granted a widow's pension and his heirs and widow granted a land grant in Missouri of 160 acres.

Sally Brimer, 1791 NC, m. William McCarter born 1788 in Abbeville, SC. They married October 10, 1812 in TN.  The McCarters had 8 known children.

Nancy Brimer, 1793, Rowan County, NC; m. Abraham McCarter (brother of Sally's husband, William McCarter) in Jefferson County, TN on March 10, 1813. Tennessee State Marriages, 1780-2002 Record.  They had 6 children, 3 of whom were Abel, Joseph R., and Martha Jane McCarter.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COM, GREETING:

KNOW YE, That, in pursuance of the Acts of Congress appropriating and granting Land to the late Army of the United States, passed on and since the sixth day of May, 1812, William BRIMER son and the other heirs at law of Jesse BRIMER deceased, having deposited in the General Land-Office a Warrant in their favor, numbered 21254, there is granted unto the said William BRIMER, son and other heirs at law of Jesse BRIMER deceased late a private in DOHERTY'S Company, 7th Regiment of Infantry, a certain tract of land, containing 160 acres being the South East of Section 35 of Township 57 North- in Range 21 West in the Tract appropriated (by the Acts aforesaid) for Military Bounties, in the Territory of Missouri North.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said quarter section of Land, with the appurtenances thereof, unto the said William BRIMER, son and the other heirs at law of Jesse BRIMER dec'd, and to their heirs and assigns forever as tenants in common and not as joint tenants.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have caused these Letters to be made patent, and the Seal of the General Land-Office to be affixed. Given under my hand, at the City of Washington, this 18th day of MAY in the Year of our Lord 1819 and of the Independence of the United States of America the 43rd.

At a Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions now and holding for the County aforesaid at the court-house in Dandridge for said county on the second Monday fifteen of 1818, personally appears, in open court, Elizabeth BRIMER, of full age, resident in said county and makes oath, that she was well acquainted with Jesse BRIMER and his wife Eleanor; that she was not present when they were married but she believes that they were married about 29 years ago, that from about that time they lived together as man and wife, that they were known and confident by their neighbors to have been married and that the faith was not disputed by any person within her knowledge; that they had nine children: namely Rebecca, now intermarried with James McDANIEL, about 28 years old;
Sally about 26 years old, now intermarried with William McCARTER;
Nancy, about 22 years old, now intermarried with Abel McCARTER;
Ruth, about 20 years old, now intermarried with Hezekiah RENEAU;
Margaret, about 18 years old;
William, about 16 years old;
Sabra, about 13 years old;
Elizabeth, about 10 years old;
and John, about 8 years old,
all of them were born in lawful wedlock according to the law of this country and belief and the reputation of this country; that she has been informed and believes that said Jesse BRIMER enlisted as a regular soldier and died in the service, that he was a citizen of Jefferson County aforementioned when he enlisted and that his wife, who is yet a widow, has been a resident in the same one since.

In open court as above, personally appears James DOHERTY, of full age, late a Major of the 28thRegiment of Infantry of the United States and maketh Oath, that Jesse BRIMER enlisted as a regular Soldier of the 7th Regiment sometime in the month of May or June 1813, from that time for five years, and that he died while in the service of the United States and in said enlistment at Highwassee Garrison on the 11th day of February 1814; that said Jesse was enlisted at Dandridge in said Jefferson County by myself, then a Captain of the 7th Regiment; and that by the laws of the state of Tennessee, the children of the said Jesse, born in lawful wedlock are his legitimate heirs at law; and that he has reasons to believe the statements in the preceding affidavit to be correct and no reason to believe the contrary.
